Hi guys

Currently have someone making up my sub enclosure from 18mm MDF. My new problem is trying to get a nice finish. I dont want carpet but i was thinking can i get a finish like this (Attched Supernova pic) with MDF or am i totally dreaming.

If possible can someone explain how. Im assuming the box needs to be preped then coasted in some form of clear then paint. I dunno

Also if anyone has any other CHEAP alternatives that would be great

Cheers
ken

Yes it's possible to get a rich gloss black/piano black on MDF but it takes A LOT of hardwork and time to get it right. There's a couple "guides" to it, either on here or on the AVS DIY section. I'd do a search. I'd provide links but have to go eat. =O Just know what your getting into before you really start to want it otherwise you'll be disappointed and have to settle with something lesser. Trust me. *shrugs*

Thanks Canadian Dude, those first two were the ones I was thinking of. I hadn't seen the other though - maybe they have a short cut I haven't seen. =O

One can only wish for an easy way out.
