I just scored a Peavey CS400X which is stable into 4 ohms bridged at 600 watts (according to the manual).

I'm interested in building a 15" sealed sub. I'm going sealed because of box size, and build simplicity vs. ported. I know I could build a very efficient, powerful ported design with 600 watts but there is something about a sealed 15" that just keeps drawing me into the idea.

I was interested in an IB but I can't seem to convince my wife that cutting a big hole in the wall isn't that big of deal :scratchhead:

I'm considering the CSS SDX15 (269.00)(Is there a HTS member discount?), or RSS390HF-15(159.80). Seems like I should have more options in the price range of those two with the SDX15 being the highest I'll spend. Soundsplinter is just out of my price range or I'd consider an RLp15.

The room the sub will go into is 2300 cubic feet and retangular in shape 15x19x8.

I have a BFD. My mains are DIY bookshelves crossed over at 80 Hz.

I'm hoping to keep the box under 3.5 cubic feet.

Any other suggestions or comments about the mentioned drivers will be appreciated.

I'll take a look at the Mach 5 subs recommended. I'm actually really leaning towards building a slot vent 12" kappa perfect designed by Wmax and Avaserfi. I know its not what my original plan was but hey, sometimes things change.

I bought a 12VQ New Years Eve. the Mach 5 18.2.2 does look pretty sweet but with my current amplifier constraints I think the 12VQ with a slot vent is better suited for 600 watts than the sealed Mach 18. A ported Mach 5 18.2.2 would be too big, I'm pushing the WAF as is with 22.5 x 22.5 x 25 box.
