"I ran WinIsd at 600W, and with a 4.3ft^3 box that has (2) 3"x18" ports, the port Velocity is really high at 40m/s @ 20hz (that box is tuned ~20.90 give or take).
With a 20hz Butterworth 2nd HPF, the Xmax is listed as 13.45 @ 17.55hz at 0 Degree coil temp, at 200*F it jumps up to 16.6mm At 1000W the Xmax jumps to >21mm at 200*, with >60m/s por velocity.
No wonder you are hearing chuffing, doesn't seem like a good match to that box."
What were you looking at in WinISD to figure all that out. Would you mind telling me the way to find that kind of info? Right now I'm modeling drivers and looking at graphs, but it sounds like I'm missing a lot.
I'm looking to build 2 sealed enclosures with the Fi audio HT3. About 6^3 foot boxes haven't decided on which ohms to go with yet 2 or 4. Having a hard time finding an amp to run these. I'm in Canada. 90%movies 10%music
Was looking at a crown but a lot of people say they are terrible for subs...
Please be gentle as I am not a sound guy. I do photography and video. Shooting video at a pageant and wanted to connect to the sound board using the Clean Box Pro. We are connecting 1 XLR unbalanced line in to the CBP from the snake from the soundboard and then tried both the 1/8" to 1/8" on the...
So I plan on building a sealed JL 13w7 with EQ to hit 20hz flat, to power that little beast I was wondering if I should get an Behringer EP2500 or a Crown XLS 2502.
Personally I'd like to go with the Crown, better efficiency + no need of mods for silence, but I wonder if it can handle the task...
Has anybody any experience with the ipd2400, particularly with subwoofers?
It states 2 x 1200w @ 4ohms and I think I read response down to 2hz.
I’d like to know will it perform as well as an inuke6000 as I know behringer specs are inflated.
And are the fans quiet?
