Hi,

New to the Home Theater Shack and looking forward to sharing knowledge and experiences with others here. In contrast to other forums which I am currently a member of and have been a participating member - this one seems to take pride in its zero tolerance for negativity, non sense, and abusive cliques - kudos to the folks at HTS!!

I hope to find others here that possess the kind of humility, courtesy, and enlightenment I aspire to. I've seen more than my fair share of negativity and ego-maniacal insecurity in other forums. Hopefully, this one will prove to be the exception to that general rule....Perhaps this post will mark the beginning of a new learning opportunity for me and possibly a means by which I can contribute in kind to the learning and development of others with respect to home theater topics. :T

Hello CJG and welcome to the Home Theatre Shack :T
Hello and Welcome to the Shack.
Welcome to the Shack Villastrangiato! We've all felt exactly what you've described, and that's why this place exists, and why we're here. I'm looking forward to seeing you around on the boards!
Hi and welcome to HTS! This is definitely a place to ask your questions and get help without fear of being berated for what you do or do not know. Welcome!
Welcome. I think the rules set us apart quiet a bit. Not that we never disagree or have good arguments, it's just that we try to do it in a polite, constructive fashion. So as long as you remember that I am right and you are wrong, everything will be okay. :paddle:

Enjoy the forum. See ya around.

LOL....well, sometimes agreeing to disagree on a technical point of view is helpful. Either way, I've found it a lot easier to maintain mutual respect when we stick to the technical aspects to support our observations or comments. So often, you see a debate on technical merits of differing views degenerate into a situation where one side or the other starts questioning reputation and qualifications. When that happens, the discussion usually declines very rapidly and the gloves come off. This seldom happens though when people stick with technical details to support their views. I generally have respect for others when they remain sincere about what they've observed and what they've concluded from those observations, regardless of whether or not it agrees with my understanding or experience. And if two different perspectives are supported by different experiences - people should feel comfortable agreeing to disagree. We all stray from this ideal from time to time and moderators are necessary to nudge us back on the path to righteousness and salvation.....

Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome.
