Hi.
I used to have a 5.1 system, but due to remodeling and failure of certain critical components, coupled with all manner of distractions and thin wallet, I no longer do. I'm pretty much limited to a 2-channel system that barely satisfies for TV/DVD/Blu-Ray right now, and is woefully inadequate for my vinyl listening habits. Now my 9 year old Onkyo AV receiver is periodically shutting itself down, so sometimes I have no system at all! I'll look into having it repaired, but I'm thinking about replacing it with something new that can handle HDMI inputs.
So that's why I'm here. I want to learn a bit about setting up a modest 5.1 system for movies, games, and TV. I'm also working on a separate 2-channel setup for my vinyl and CD.
So greetings. I look forward to participating in the forums.
