Welcome Jason. Great post. We are suffering here in Oklahoma with a blistery 64 degrees today with a warming trend to 80's Thursday! I am glad you like your SVSounds. Have fun. Dennis
Hey Jason...welcome & congrats on the new SVS Speakers. I'm new up here too and I'm also in Southeastern CT too.....Milford to be exact. I also recently made an SVS purchase...a PB13 Ultra Sub in Rosenut!Thank you all for the warm welcome!
I snuck out of work a bit early tonight and I'll be spending a few hours searching ths site and asking questions. It looks like there's so much this site has to offer, should keep me busy tonight.
I called a freind. BAX Global was the delivery service. They put it right in my garage. I separated the box from the pallet before bringing it into my house....still about 150lbs. 2 guys makes this an easy task.Always nice to run into neighbors online Dave!
I appreciate the welcome!
The Ultra 13 is on my list but I had to be certain about the MTS Towers first. I thoroughly enjoy watching movies with 7.1 TrueHD but when I listen to music through 2ch analog direct, I won't compromise. The MTS-01's filled that bill nicely so now I can proceed with the sub, surrounds and a bit more construction in the room.
I could have purchased all the necessary speakers but the cost of the structural engineer plus the steel beam (removed a lolly column) ate up quite a bit of the budget.
I'm getting there though.
I hear the SVS subs arrive on a palet I'm guessing that's not UPS? Just curious as to how the sub gets from the truck to the house, I'll make sure I have a few friends over that day.:flex:
Yes hello and welcome. Jason, your pit job at the (SUN or Foxwoods?) sounds like a good gig. I hope there is job security there with all of this broken down economy stuff going on. I guess we could say we are neighbors being it is a large nation or even larger world and we live about 70 minutes away from ea other.Hey Jason... Hey Bailman,
... The tournaments aren't what they once were but I'm confident things will turn around soon. The only other option is a complete failure of the global economy. :gah:
70 minutes away? That's nothing! Wait a sec... that's drive down 95! I'll pass. I have NEVER made it from one end of the state to the other without some horrible delay on 95.
Yes we are very close. Wow!....and I should correct myself from above when I said that I was from South Eastern CT.....more like South Western but since it's such a small state..who cares...right?Yes hello and welcome. Dave we are even closer. Six minutes at the most. I am now asking myself why no GTG's? :foottap: I 'd like to hear the PB-13.:T:hsd:
Yep thats exactly what I thought when I read it. I am located in the North End of Bpt. Close to ST V's.Yes we are very close. Wow!....and I should correct myself from above when I said that I was from South Eastern CT.....more like South Western but since it's such a small state..who cares...right?
Yes thats what I hear. I had two PB2+/2's but sold them. I wasn't happy with their musicality. They did dig deeeeep though. The Ultra is really something special...and to think I haven't even dialed the thing in yet. Cannot wait!!! Gonna try REW once I get the external soundcard for my laptop.
I guess the global economy failing is a little over the top but you never know.
What exactly would we do at a GTG? I used to have meets for a car club
But I'm unsure of an agenda for a HT meet.
Suggestions?

So here's the deal....I have REW on my wife's laptop but I am dead in the water till I can get an external soundcard to actually use it the right way. Working on this...What would be done @ a GTG? How does this sound?
Eat, drink, discuss current system and set up, evaluate, tweak, discuss, reevaluate, drink, eat... re-tweak. :T
Basically have a hands on learning curve with Dave's PB13 and REW on my BFD @ his house which he could use till he gets his own. See... I am not totally ready to jump in the REW game. Again, I don't have the bravery to get started. Its overwhelming to me. Bringing my BFD while participating in the whole setup process will be a good remedy for my fears. Plus I get to hang with people who are are as nuts :coocoo: as I am about AV.
Wait!! What am I saying. Dave and you should come to my place so we can:
Eat, drink, discuss current system and set up, evaluate, tweak, discuss, reevaluate, drink, eat... re-tweak. :T He could get more familiarised with the REW. This will only be possible if Dave brings the REW stuff. If he doesn't then its just eat, drink, discuss about what could've been tweaked which leaves more time for eating & drinking .
That's a nice set-up you have there!
So, you send 325 watts to all your speakers? WOW! No wonder you needed something like the SVS sub to match that much high end.
I'm a bit embarrassed to post pics of my HT at this point because I was unsure of how to finish the front wall with the TV and bulky built in type cabinet I "half" finished. I now know what I'm going to do up front so I may post some before and after pics. I'll be giving the room a face lift tomorrow.
I'm not familiar with the Pioneer model numbers so is your current TV a Kuro? I found the Kuro line just after I purchased my Sony XBR. The Kuro was rated better than the Sony on CNET but it was also quite a bit more expensive. I was also leery of Plasma because I KNOW my younger son would leave a game on the screen for great lengths of time.
