Hello from SoCal

Hello! SoCal home improvement enthusiast and general nerd. One of this summer and fall's projects is improving my home theater system a bit. I don't have a huge budget for it, but I'm going to do what I can, and maybe improve incrementally over the next couple years.

I installed a "mostly stealth" 5.1 system a few weeks ago - the surrounds are in-walls, hidden behind artwork.

Bought a UMIK-1 last week and started fooling around with REW yesterday to see what I can learn about the room. Looking forward to reaching 5 posts so I can upload files for advice.

First goal: improve speech intelligibility, which is sometimes poor in some TV programs, film, and/or video games.
