Hi,

I live in India and am planning to build a sub-woofer, the driver and an amp will be picked up in the US by my brother and I plan to build the enclosure here.

I have a budget of $200 for the driver and amp but can go up a little if needed.

I am a complete noob and the reason I am going the DIY route is partly because weight/size limits won't let my brother pick up a complete sub.

The sub will be for music and movies, I plan to hook it up to my PC and would like something that lasts me a while.

Thanks a ton for your help.

Hey mike. what would you recommend then? I can go up to 300 or even a little more if you think it's worth it.

Thank you for your suggestions Mike. The Dayton is only rated at 120 volts. I found the Bash Amp which is switchable between 120 to 230 http://oaudio.com/300W_SUBAMP.html.

Would you recommend getting this instead? I can use a step down transformer with the Dayton but they are fickle things and I don't want to fry my amp if they give out.

One last thing, can you recommend a ported design?
