Sounds like a problem in a protection circuit. When it won't start, look to see which LEDs on the boards are not lit compared to when it is running. These are diagnostics.
Hitach will not turn on
I have a hitachi projection color tv model number 51uwx20b. when I turn the tv on it will not turn on untill i unplug the tv for 5 seconds then plug it back in ,I hear a click then the tv will power up. All ok then.Can anyone help.

TV would not turn on so i had the back cover off and checked lead lights none were on.I unplugged the tv for 10 seconds and plugged it back in.No lights were on yet.I then pushed the power button the tv worked and all 4 red leds and 1 green one came on. Help.
