Hello friends,me and a friend of mine that lives next door, are having pigeon problems,so we tought about making a diy amplifier board to put predetors call like hawk(We don't want to use glue or sticks to hurt the birds)so we got one like the pic attached http://postimg.org/image/uw8o2fmo9/ .Now the problem is that the sound is very low so the pigeons just sit on the other side of the roof, how do we increse(Boost)the sound with out any more amplifiers or equalisers???

Thank you very much

Given a fixed power output, to increase the SPL you need a speaker with greater sensitivity. Changing your speakers from 87dB efficiency to 90dB will result in an increase in volume that is the equivalent of doubling the power from your amplifier (although that is not the same as being twice as loud, 10 dB is about twice as loud).

Thank you Wardsweb,so the output watts is 15w if i put a 100db will make it 30w and 200db to 45???No need to put other equipment to increase it?

also using a horn speaker like these will dramatically increase the volume level.

Hello ! :ponder:
Well ..
You are simulating the sound of a hawk ?
You'll scare the pigeons ?
The species !
https://soundcloud.com/maisutil/amostra-de-falc-es
So ... First !

You've heard a screaming hawk ? Height / Volume of sound!
Distance that the sound you hear ?

Near the natural parameters !

The amplifier must possess these characteristics ...
Power and reach.
The sound is not unidirectional !
The sound has to be sharp !
The sound pressure level ( SPL ) has next to be real!
Surely need great power in treble !
You need to experiment with the power ...
To test the efficiency and scope !
Interesting !
But ...
It seems that not much efficiency ...
In the long term !
LOOK !
- SCARY HEARING :
The use of sounds that scare away the pigeons like explosion of fireworks, rattling metal structures ( cans , pots ) , ultrasound, mimetic sounds of predators , or shots of compressed air are very transient effect measurements .

- VISUAL SCARY :
Means the use of mannequins predators and reflective structures .
The use of dummies owls , hawks or other birds of prey , which are natural predators of pigeons biological discourage his approach , playing the role of scarecrows .

I do not write well in English ...
I hope you understand!

I got a sound from a video i saw when i guy had a device that made predator sounds,it works but as i stated before the sound is very low,if the pigeon sits by the device we are using they fly away, but they can still sit on the other side of the room (We are shared roof of 300 square meters so it is far away,so the option for me since it is a fixed power input is the try the other two options mentions

Thank you all for your replies
