Hi All
I am relatively new to IB subs (I have built 2 this year) and certainly new to this forum. Hoping the more experienced amongst you can advise on how to test the IB sub. I have read how AVtalk (and our own Ilkka) do the ground plane measurements at 1mtr in an open space. But naturally you cannot transport an IB

1. Are nearfield measurements (ie immediately at the manifold throat) of much help? (they are easy to do, but not sure of whether room is completely eliminated)

2. Would 1mtr above floor mounted IB be of use? (room gain and nearby structures I guess would cloud this?)

3. any other thoughts?

Please comment
thanks

I think most people here measure using the REW software at their primary seating position.

The IB is designed for the area it's located in, so measuring the room and its response while sitting at the spot where you'll be listening seems appropriate..
