Greetings, all!
I have been lurking around here for a couple of years and decided that it is time to become "Official"

I have spent most of my lurking time in the DIY Subwoofer and Speaker Forums.
I'm a Physicist/Acoustician and have been designing broadcast and recording facilities, and cinemas (back when they actually paid attention to acoustics) for the last twenty years, as well as high end home theaters for the last ten years or so. I have recently moved to a new position where I'm working on larger but less precise reproduction systems (arenas, stadiums, etc).
I designed my first loudspeaker system in 1972 and not surprisingly, it was pretty awful. I Used a 12" Utah coaxial driver and an off the shelf crossover and was surprised when it didn't sound like I thought it would when reading the spec sheets. After a considerable amount of perseverance (and perhaps a little education) my designs finally stink at least a little less. I have a sideline company, Precision Kinetics (thus my user name), that designs and manufactures custom control room monitor systems for recording and broadcast control rooms. Don't worry...I won't be promoting them here.

I actually first came here because one of my driver suppliers, SoundSplinter, is a Sponsor here.
I look forward to reading and learning much on the forums. I hope that I can add a bit of useful information now and then, as well.
