I scored a Yamaha RX-A3060 for $1200 Cdn.

This thing is a beast making my already portly Yamaha RX-V1800 look skimpy. Im taking my time reading the manual and playing with its menus before wiring it into my main system.

My two cents: I would guess that you won't hear the difference between the two. The 3060 has like 50W more power, but I don't think you would use it and say: "oh wow, Kodi nox this has so much more power." Your mileage may vary.

I didnt do a DBT test but I also didnt hear anything as different between the RX-V1800 and RX-A3060. I bought it because I wanted to handle 4K video and for Atmos. Tne 1800 is an awesome AVR I wanted the newer feature set of the 3060.
