I know that I must have the IC Chip removed and the yolks disconnected before I check the bank of 12 resistors by the chip, my problem is I am not sure what a yolk is. Is is safe to assume that if I have removed the entire PCB board from the TV the yolks have also been disconnected or is there something on the board that also needs to be removed. Thanx

A yolk is found in an egg. :)

Yes, if you have the boards out, you have the yokes disconnected. The yokes are the things that fit around the neck of the CRTs near the bell of the tube, that have two sets of wires going in. The larger wires are the main deflection and the smaller are the convergence (aka sub deflection).

What model and what symtoms?

Since were on the topic of removing the boards.

How do the connectors that connect the boards together come apart? Any tips?
