I was thinking, and this is purely hypothetical as I have no money right now to waste (grad school) but it seems that if you wanted to hide a fairly "large" subwoofer cabinet (like 4-6 cubic foot) you could buy a junky ikea product, build the inside up and seal it with mdf and downfire or rear fire the subwoofer.
