Hello reader,

First post, I'm really fresh to this whole DIY speaker thing, but I managed to pull off a set of Paul Carmody OSMTM builds and I'm looking to gain a deeper understanding of what I just did, especially how all the components in a crossover interact to split up frequencies. I have some background in AC theory which I hope might help.

I see on the DIY subwoofer projects portion of this site a lot of your own designs, by beginners and advanced creators alike. My question is, what do you think would be a good next step in developing my understanding of this DIY speaker stuff? I'm looking to make a powered subwoofer.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks!:grin2:

I'd start with developing an understanding of T/S parameters and crossover and amplifier specifications and how those factors affect system design. It's not necessarily light reading, but it will go a long way towards building better and better speakers. Welcome aboard!
