Hi lcaillo (hat off)

Can I use the 5A/125v pico fuse from Acme-sales as a sub to PS5001(P/N 1-533-597-31) on th G board? I think yes but I would feel more comfortable if a guru like you says ok, :heehee:
I'm about to order a pair of STK392-570s and this fuse from Acme.

I acquired this TV with little money for my kids. Convergence is off, heatsinks of STK392-560s are icecold when the TV runs. The -22v supply to STKs is shorted to ground. PS5001 for -22v on the G board is blown but the rectifier supplies the -22v is good. +22v is good too. I don't understand why service manual lists PS5001 as link IC.

Thanks man!

Just a follow up that this TV is fixed with the 5A pico fuse and STK392-570s from acme-sales.
The +/- 22V supplies are normal at 21V sth. Don't know how hot 560 runs but I feel 570 runs hotter than I had thought. GC waldom thermal grease is applied for sure and screws tightened.

I'm not so impressed with the PQ of this set than Hitachi SWX.

Thank you lcaillo.

I tried to get a temperature reading however the digital thermometer for my kids simply went out of range, hehe

Well IC8002(GH/BH/BV) runs relatively cooler and my finger could bear with the heat. IC8001(RH/RV/GV) runs a lot hotter and my finger can't stay too long on the heat sink. It's hot enough to cook egg,:jump: I remember some CRT vertical deflection ICs run this hot as well and even caps close to it could dry up. So it should be ok still for IC8001.

Guess it's IC8001 that is causing convergence problem to this model. More V more trouble.

I think the temperature the STKs are running is at the 50 to 60 range or at most 70 degree C. One day I took a shower somewhere which has a temperature gauge to show water temperature and I tried varying water temp to match what I felt before with the heatsinks.

Anyway this TV has been running two weeks many hours a day by wife and there's no issue. Don't want to open it up anymore, :)

I cleaned the mirror and lenses, adjusted blue lenses focus(I know blue focus can't be too good but this one was way too off) and fine tuned convergence adjustment. The picture quality does look good and impressive. I like the protective screen. It does not have as much glare as the Hitachi I have. Its glare is barely noticeable :yay:
