Recently the screen of my KP57WS510 got damaged (yeah, I screwed up!) so I parted the set out. While selling the D board I found something interesting - though the service manual only shows the 57 & 65" sets using the A-1302-180-A board it seems the 51" sets did too. In fact the lady I sold my board to had 51" set. In doing some research I found the following:

KP51WS510 starting with serial number 8000001 use D board A-1302-708-A
KP51WS510 starting with serial number 8700001 use D board A-1302-180-A
KP57WS510 with serials below 9000001 use D board A-1302-708-A
KP57WS510 starting with serial number 9000001 use D board A-1302-180-A
KP65WS510 with serials below 9000001 use D board A-1302-708-A
KP65WS510 starting with serial number 9000001 use D board A-1302-180-A

Regardless of model, all other serial numbers not starting with 80 or 90 use D board A-1302-180-A

As always, it's best to confirm the board in your set before purchasing another one - consider this as a rule of thumb.

Take Care,

Steve

Thanks! I'm scanning CraigsList now for another project! AND I've learned how to manually focus the camera!

I'm being distracted by Lawn Boy two stroke lawn mowers though . . .

Hey Steve I found another Sony 57" RPTV. I wonder if the WS500 series has the same d board as my WS510? I found your other thread where you mentioned the different models for the 510 series but Im guessing the 500 series has the same D boards? any input on this?

Thanks

TJ

I think its A-1302-180 IIRC. Not sure what the 500 has in it.

, at $20 I might even buy it just to find out! lol
I don't believe it does. I think they are very similar but not exactly the same.

I have a scrap board here that I'm sure is from a WS500 but the tape tag I put on it has fallen off so I'm not 100% sure.

Anyway, it's got A1300417A stamped on it.

You'll just have to compare the boards and part numbers to be sure.
