I am starting a new ported build in 4 to 7 cu feet Ftune 20Hz and i narrowed my choice to these 3 drivers:
Mach5 IXL15.2.2 the SoundSplinter RL-p15 and the TC Sounds LMS-R 15 :sn:, the latter two share the same price, where RL-p15 has more impressive, juicier motor
So i did some simulation,

The Mach 15.2.2 does nice job in 4 cu feet tuned to 18Hz , TC Sounds reaches the same low freqs but in 7 cu feet with 3dB higher output.
What is with RL-p15 happening is that WinISD suggests unrealistic volumes around 1/3 cu feet and with some iterrative process i came to 3.5 cu feet and Fs at 25Hz, the realistic Ftune would be 70-80Hz... The output drops sihnificantly below 80Hz :dontknow: it is no go at all... Does anyone of you guys know what is going on with RL-p15 is such quality driver?
One thing when i compare the T-Small parameters from WinISD database the driver has the lowest Qts 0.18 of all three drivers but i know a lot of you guys here did great jobs with RL-p15 ported subs:help:

All three model fairly close, the LMSR and PL-p being closer as they have a higher Xmax. All shown with 1000 watts and the appropriate hi-pass filter. I'll assume you used the RL-p driver file that is in WinISD, that file is not for the current version of the driver.

Thank you for your time Mike, i downloaded the driver files in october from the WinISD database here from ht shack
(http://www.hometheatershack.com/for...sion/14410-downloadable-winisd-pro-files.html) :blink: unless they designed recently new driver RL-p15.
do you have an idea where comes the discrepancy for the RL-p15 from .. and in your design files how much is Qts? in my opinion a driver with lower Qts than 0.3 is incontrollable in the bass frequency range no matter how low is Fs.

Qts is .334 in the driver file, the sub in question is the D2, not the D4. If you are modeling the D2 then upload your project file so I can have a look.

Edit: The Qts of 0.18 is from the old file that was originally in WinISD, you're using the wrong file.

my appologies i should have noticed it, do you think i am doing right choosing the RL-p15 cause it looks more powerfull than the TC LMS-R 15" DVC with the tripple magnet ring? And about the distortion, how do you think guys is it better than the mach5 and exodus tempest?
