I a thinking of doing this sealed build:

Or a ported sonotube build. If I go the ported route I will need some help. Either way I will use an EP2500. And an Ed EQ.2. It will be used for 90% HT nd 10% music. Here are my questions:

1. How many ft3 does it need to be? Size really is not an issue as long as its not a behemoth.
2. Is 17hz a good point to tune this enclosure at?
3. Can I use one 6" flared port if the tuning is around 17hz?
4. If I use 30" sonotube does it need to be braced at all?

Ported will give you more low end output for a HT application. The ED eQ2 does not work well with pro amps due to not enough voltage. The Reckhorn B1 from CSS would be a better choice.

1. How many ft3 does it need to be? Size really is not an issue as long as its not a behemoth.
That depends on how much output you want. How big is the room and is it closed off or open to other areas? Have a look at this build and see if it's too big for you.

That will depend on what enclosure size you decide on.

3. Can I use one 6" flared port if the tuning is around 17hz?
Not with an EP2500. 8 inch is minimum.

4. If I use 30" sonotube does it need to be braced at all?
No bracing required with a sonotube. Double end caps are required.

I think I will go with a net of 14.2ft3 so it will end up being about 13.5ft3. My room is 16x8x25 with openings to a kitchen and a hallway.

Where should I tune it at?

How do I cut 30 inch circles for the double end caps?
