Re: Max Payne Blu-ray Review

I haven't seen the movie, but the games were exceptional. The story and atmosphere were fantastic, and I think you've captured that perfectly in your opening line, Wayde. Unfortunately, like most video game to movie adaptations, there wasn't much about Payne that translates. Slo-mo? Big deal. The dark and disturbing moments in the games were fresh because that kind of emotion is so difficult to bring to a video game -- but not to a movie.

I don't like Wahlberg all that much and as someone who played through both games (twice), I see him as a miscast. Given that the style of the game is akin to Frank Miller films, perhaps Clive Owen would have been a better pick.
