So for the past twenty-five I've made my living traveling around the world setting up major rock shows. Now that I've retired, I want to enjoy TV, movies etc.. So I have four active studio monitors, and a active studio sub that I had big plans for, but they never came to fruition. I've been looking for a 5.1 surround pre amp that will take the four HDMi inputs and spit out the audio passing the video straight through. I found a Denon unit for $800, and another unit for $600 was wondering if there were any other units that someone knew of?

Ive owned Onkyo, Denon, Sony, and Pioneer. They all have their weaknesses and strengths, now I'm a Yamaha user and will probably not be switching for a long time. Yamaha build quality is top notch and the sound quality is excellent. You should be able to get an Avantage model at or near your budget.
