I have 7 pairs speakers scattered throughout my house. Most of them average, non powered, in ceiling with a few pairs mounted on the wall, nothing fancy. Each pair has its own volume control. All the speakers are about 16 years old.
I am looking for my best option for a new receiver to run the system as my 8 yo Yamaha just died. The main room where the stereo is has two pairs and a powered sub and I would need AV capability there but the rest would be audio only. I would also like to have Bluetooth and wifi capability as well.
Thanks.

without knowing your budget , it's very difficult to make any recommendation . For your music zones I highly recommend a Sonos Connect Amp that drives a speaker selector...this leaves the main zone which can be a much less expensive AV receiver... and the sonos app frees up your phone to use without interuption
