Morning All,

I've tried using WinISD to model a down-firing sub, front-mounted passive radiator subwoofer with little luck. It's clear to me that I don't know how to use WinISD very well.

My idea is to use the CSS SDX10 sub, BASH 300, and a CSS APR15 in an 18" cube tuned to the 25-28 Hz range.

Is this even possible? If not, it could well explain my apparent ineptitude with WinISD.

The sub would mostly be used for HT use and occasionally for music. The room size is slightly less than 16'x12' and opens up to the kitchen. The seating area is no more than 12' feet from the TV with the kitchen behind it.

Size of the box is a primary concern to increase the WAF. The sub would be placed in a corner where my current sub is. That's why I was considering the set-up I described above.

My other design dilemna is that I have a LCR set of Angstrom Suono 200 flat panel speakers. So I need a good sub since they don't do bass like a good floor standing speaker.

I do like the kit that CSS is selling and that you have tried out. My only concern about that package is that fact that any future sub would be placed in a corner.

Can you place a sub in a corner with a PR directly facing a wall? Would a smaller sealed box be less effective at producing low frequency effects than a ported or PR'd box?

I have a Quest QS8...

I first got it when I was putting my first HT together on a budget. It's treated me well but now I need a better sub that can fill in for the low end that my new flat panel speakers can't do.

Maybe I'll just pick-up a pre-designed kit that doesn't use a passive radiator. Those kits made by Occam and sold be CSS look appealing. Maybe the SDX10P kit.
