Hi Guys

Just bought a galaxy CM-140 and a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB Audio System with THX SB1095. Trying to follow the guides for how to use and stuck at first hurdle. I'm using Win7 x64 and have installed latest drivers. I have Line Out L+R connected to adapter that converts to 3/5mm, which is plugged into Line in

I did first step and got levels close:

but when I do next and look at chart I get this:

I read help and it says this could be feedback from monitoring, but I can't find anything except this related to monitoring:

Any ideas where I'm going badly wrong?

Regards

Re: Noob - Totally Stuck on Soundcard Cal (X-Fi) - SOLVED

Solved;

On the Speaker Properties -> Levels you must mute the Line In level, that level controls how much of the line in signal gets fed back out to the speakers, if it is not muted you have a feedback loop. Control the line in level from the Recording device properties.

Thanks to John in this thread: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/rew-forum/34904-soundblaster-x-fi-7.html#post544221

Does this look OK now?
