I was looking for a cheap way to run 9ch.
Whats better a dedicated power amp?
Or a old 2ch stereo amp might work if it has a lot of power.
Any suggestions? And is 9ch a lot better

Also while running 7ch*(currently) are wides better than 4 surrounds? if I have 4 floor-standers.

Maybe I need a power amp for 11 channels most I can get the 818 to run is 9ch. Impressive though 9ch good enough for me!!! WOW epic sounds better then a movie theater (except 3d theaters).
I run mostly Klipsch Icon set up right now & KLH 10" subwoofer. I also have a 15" but its not hooked up now.

To be honest I hardly use the upper front speakers(mostly use for helicopter/plane movies). 7.1 is actually good enough for me. Believe me the amp won't make a big difference. Spend your money on Netflix or Used BD movies.
Yeah 9 speakers is good enough for me guess I just fixed my set up. Thanks for the help.
