I am in a situation where I have a 5.1 system and in my 12x16' room I don't see any thing changing in this 143 year old farm house in the future. Maybe I could use a couple of small height speakers but thats it. I have a Cinenova Grande 5 channel amp and a Von Schweikert Audio speaker set up with a PSA XS15 sub. I am currently about 70% movies to 30% music. should I spend the extra $ on the 8801 or just get the 7701? I know there are better DAC's in the 8801 but don't see ever having 11 channels. I get Audyssey in the 7701 but I know you can not use the pro. Those of you that have gone from Integra or Onkyo to the Marantz how much better sound are you hearing? As always all opinions arer helpful!:scratch:BTW I use PS3 for Blu-ray.

You are also getting a lower spec version of Audyssey in the 7701: MultEQ XT vs. MultEQ XT32. Big difference.
