philips magnavox problem

just bought this 50 inch tv model# 9p5034 c101 the coolant has been changed recently. now the problem. when im watching the tv anytime i get a picture with alot of white in int the screen acts like it going to close in it gets black around the picture and goes away then comes back but when there is not alot of white the picture is fine could it be the convergence chip or something else thank you in advance for any help shawn

Not convergence. Likely a bad regulator, bad cap, or a bad optocoupler. Optocoupler numbered 7412 in the power supply is a common cause of shrinking pix, but if it is related to beam current like you describe, could be a cap or regulator IC.
