I bought a Pioneer Pro-92 on craigslist a few months ago. The volume has started to come in and go out while it is being watched. This occurs while watching tv, recorded shows and playing video games. Any idea what is causing this and how I can fix it.
Pioneer sets, particularly this vintage, are known for having literally hundreds of bad solder connections. Any set of this age would be suspect for capacitors that are aging out or leaking. Some troubleshooting and observation are required to isolate the problem. There is no simple symptom/repair solution that I can point to in this case.
