That is a really good deal there.

Amazon carries the 822 for about $250, but this is the first I have seen the 1022 at that price. I have been looking around for a while for something to get my parents for xmas that would cost around $250. This is still a little early, so I will probably hold out, but still a great deal.

I had three friends get that receiver, all 3 stopped working. One actually still works, but none of the HDMI ports work. And for any of them the hdmi pass feature wouldnt work. All of them picked up from woot. I dont know if this is typical of new pioneer products, or just that line?

We have a review coming up on one of those in a week or two.

I suspect it could be a run of bad units if they all came from Woot.

Sorry to hear of the problems. Certainly does not sound like Pioneer, but it has been many years since I owned one of their AVRs. With Newegg's return policy, this may not be that good of a deal.

Pick up a Squaretrade warranty ... 3 years for that receiver is only $35.

Of course Pioneer should fix or replace it within the warranty period anyway.
