This may be a dumb question, but is there a way to play and measure a sweep AFTER the in-program SMS-1 filter has been applied? Basically, I'd like to see what the filtered effect actually sounds like, rather than just having a visual representation of the predicted freq. response.

You have to take a second measurement after applying the EQ filtering.

thanks for the reply. I know that a second measurement must be taken, but I guess my question is how do I actually "apply" the filter after tinkering with it in the EQ window? I've played with the filter, got a fairly flat response, but when I take my next measurement, my graph looks identical to the pre-filter curve.

The filters have to be transferred to an equalizer. What you’re seeing on the REW screen is a prediction of what response will be once you have equalized. Any actual equalization requires an actual equalizer.

Thanks, I figured that was the case. Would be nice if you were able to play a test sweep with the filters applied
