PLEASE HELP - REW, Mac Retina, Dayton UMM USB & HDMI

All,

Sorry for the newbie questions but I am completely lost and totally frustrated at this point. I have never used REW before. I have searched here and on AVS but I can't find an answer. I have found sooooo much info about connecting a Mac that I am lost and about to completely give up!!!!!!

I have a

MacBook Pro Retina (2012)
Dayton UMM-6 USB
HDMI connection to my Marantz 8801

I have downloaded and installed LineIn, Soundflower and attempted to configure my Mac per lots of the instructions I have read. However none seem to match the options that I have when I get everything plugged in.

I am able to get sound to come out of my speakers from the Mic but REW doesn't "hear" anything.

Should I just call it quits or buy a PC?

If anyone can PLEASE help me it would be much appreciated.

Could you be more specific about what doesn't match? It's hard to provide any useful advice without specific information.

See if this thread helps. I added a section to the first post about setting up the input to address what sounds like a similar issue I was having.
