Short answer: no. The flares smooth the air flow as it transitions from contained in the tube to the greater volume of unchanneled air, and help prevent "chuffing."

So yes it does make a difference but is negligible.
Ok, I see. Yes, the difference in port length changes only a little bit, and I wondered why the programs never asked about radius size. That's why I asked. Thanks for the info.
