is it really necessary to have all the bracing that I see in some of the sub builds, I agree some bracing is required , but I see some that looks like overkill....I could see this in a sealed enclosure..but a vented one Im not sure the reason behind the overkill bracing...can someone explain this to me..as Im about to start planning a new enclosure design.

All subwoofer cabinets need to be as inert as possible so they don't color the sound. I'm not sure what you're defining as "overkill", but it's always a good idea to stiffen them up with bracing.

What type of design are you considering?

I can make that happen....thanks...hopefully will have pics during the build...will post
