Porting through floor?

1394 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  WoodHammer
Ok, I had an idea in my sleep last night but there is a possibility it’s a completely dumb notion.
Is it possible to build a sub in an enclosure and port in through a floor or wall? I know of the IBs but my house design does not allow attic space. Could I somehow build it into the floor?
This might go against how a sub produces sound. I don’t want to flood the entire first floor of my house with sound just one room. Maybe I just need to go back to sleep...:dontknow:

Both the driver ans the port produce sound so both need to fire into the same room.
I found this floor IB design interesting. Don't know that I have the cash to invest all that driver...
