Hey,

I need a portable & reliable soundcard for measuring acoustics on location. I have been reading this forum but did not find a recommended USB soundcard to use with Yosemite OSX on a Macbook pro 13". I have a Protools Digi 002 interface but I don 't want to carry it around (rack mounted) & take any chances with compatibility issues (firewire, more than 2 in/outputs,...).

So anybody working with Yosemite, Macbook pro & a Behringer ECM 8800? I also have a small Soundcraft mixer (EPM 8) that I can use for patching...

Please recommend me a USB soundcard, that just works...

I'm looking at something like this, mic pres are a plus for me:

Many thanks,

Welcome to the Forum, Dimi!

Reviewing some previous threads relating to Yosemite indicates that as long as you can get Java to install you’ll be able to use REW. Regarding a sound card, as long as the manufacturer certifies Yosemite compatibility, and has provision for turning the monitor on and off, there’s no apparent reason it shouldn’t work.

Actually you don't need to install Java for any version of OS X from 10.7 onwards, REW has its own Java runtime built into the download.

Thanks for the advice. I bought the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 & it's working fine!
