I am a bit of a blockhead with computers;however I am attempting to fix this elephant. It was given to me as i, the owner claimed as he was working on it- dropped a screw and the convergance issue was no longer a issue. I power up and it remains red, press menu and a odd sequence of 4 or 5 flashes occurs. The heaters do not glow and a soft chirp from the speakers occurs- there is a suitable power draw that occurs upon plug-in. Thanks to anybody with advice.

Unfortunately, the codes aren't really part of that chassis.

A chirp through the speakers would mean something wrong with either the audio or convergence ckts. They are provided power by the same plug on the very front of the LSM, jumping over to the SSM.

Disconnect that plug and see if the CRT's light, if it does shut it down and troubleshoot either the convergence ckt or the audio ckt.
