Im going to try REW using the IR windows settings to gate my driver measurement at 1m mic distance. Speaker is 1.2m from ground and 1.5m from nearest surface. Can anyone recommend left and right window times as a starting point?

Window the response.

You can window 'out' later reflections that way.

(Conversely, you can explain how you can 'gate' an earlier causal signal in the time domain to display only a portion of the behavior provided one effectively eliminates causal portions of the stimulus later...
In other words, observing what happens from, say, 5ms onward after the initial stimulus is applied is difficult if you effectively gate the first 5ms of the stimulus, making the application of the stimulus at 5ms effectively the first application of the stimulus...:D )

But a better technique for driver measurements is to close mic the driver.
And for speakers, to lay the mic on the ground plane and orient the speaker so that it is upside down with the HF drivers coupled to the ground and the speaker angled so that the mic is on axis.
