So i have a problem with the new version for mac.

It never finishes a reading but sticks at 99%.

The older version is fine, my only room eq problem seems to be some high end dips which i guess are from out phase reflections from the back of the mixing console.

Could you have a look in the REW log files and see if anything has been recorded there? Their location is shown in the About REW box (usually they are in /library/logs/REW in your home directory).

Could you confirm exactly which REW version you are running, and which is the 'older' version?

Try resetting your preferences and restarting REW (use "Delete preferences and shut down" in the Preferences menu).

old version is 4.11
new version is the 5 as on the download page.
Java is updated
sound card is external edirol.

I must say at this point that it's great tool, i found a substantial hole at 400hz ( moving the sub a little further back cured this )

OK so the version 5 works fine on m,y Airbook.
I'm checking the settings to match.
Airbook using internal mic and speakers.
I will do the same ( disconnect) the Edirol on the studio iMac.

OK, thanks. REW has had a lot of additions over the last year or so, but they are in a beta version which is aimed at Windows for the moment (largely because it started out to add ASIO driver support). I'll get to testing it all under OS X as well, but haven't yet - I'll have to buy a newer Mac to test with the latest OS X as my old Mac is not compatible with the new releases. In the meantime the V5 release works for many OS X users, particularly if you use the onboard audio.

hi john,

same problem here, on starting "RoomEQ_Wizard_obf.jar" I get a java exception during startup.
Old version (5.00) works fine, I did also reset preferences, with no effect!
I use a MBPro with i7.

regards

ummmm,

Markus, you realize ( I hope ) that you're trying to run a "Beta" release of REW, that is only meant for Windows users .
