I purchased an XMC-1 a while back. I recently got around to recalibrating my sub system using REW. Since my son has liberated my mixer with phantom power I can't use my Behringer mic.

I decided to try the XMC-1 USB mic. It seemed to work swimmingly, but I have no idea how good/bad the calibration is. For my ears in my room I do not feel the need to purchase a fully calibrated mic, and its calibration file, but I would like to know if there are any egregious flaws in this configuration.

How good/bad is the mic for this purpose?

Is a calibration file needed for this mic?

Where can I get it?

In case it matters, I downloaded the latest version of REW, and put it on a new windows 10 laptop.

Should be fine for sub measurement. There will be some response variation at high frequencies, but nothing that should be an issue for setting up subs.
