Hi. I've done a search of the forums and haven't seen this addressed specifically.
When REW is running a test or generating any tone, the left output sounds fine but the right channel is very "choppy". I *only* have this problem/feature with REW; other applications work fine. For a while I assumed that the choppiness was some sophisticated testing signal which I wasn't privy to, or that perhaps it was the case that the "dithering" was always turned on despite my clicking otherwise.
Now I'm wondering if it's just an error. The soundcard calibration looked ridiculous when I tried using the right channel output, and even a simple sine wave sounds crazy. If I run the left output to both speakers, everything's fine --- unless there's something "special" I need from the right channel output of REW.
Am I missing out by cutting out the choppiness from the right output? Is there something I should do to better resolve this issue? Thanks
My equipment:
Mac running OS X 10.5.8
M-Audio Firewire 1814 --- I've seen posts about Apple not allowing Java apps access to audio or somesuch, but the device works normally in REW, apart from the right-channel-choppiness mentioned above.
