Hi All, here is my proposed RL-p15 build being a single driver ported design. I can't go too much bigger than 160 litres so I thought 20Hz tune was appropriate. Is this all pretty vanilla or are there alternatives that you might suggest?

Was a little concerned with port air velocity but that was at max 1550W which I'm hoping the speaker will not see. Do you agree?

Driver: Sound Splinter RL-p15 D2 series wired to 4 ohms
Box: 160 Litres
Tune: 20 Hz
Amp: Crown XLS1500 - 1550W bridged into a 4 Ohm load
2nd Order Highpass filter @ 18 Hz

I tried posting graphs using img tags but they didn't show up. I modelled 15cm ports but have seen that the 6" Precision Sound port kits are available in Aus so will go with that.

The 150mm (6") port is a good size and should be fine. The peak air speed is a little on the high side, but as you pointed out it is only at the extremes of performance. Ive seen people claim to run those kind of air velocities in the model without ever seeing it in practise. Was that model inclusive of a HPF, because if that is yet to be added, then it will further reduce max air velocity slightly anyway.

Update: the design has been modified to be in a slightly larger box and hence a lower tune as well.

Many thanks to Graham's (gperkins_1973) awesome design services who has done the box design for me. Very happy with the end result and Graham was a pleasure to work with.
