Hi BleedingStar,

You didn't say if a painted screen was an option or not. If so, Cream&Sugar might be a good solution for you. This is a VERY light gray screen mix that has a reflective additive to boost white-level performance to come very close to a white painted screen. If you are interested you can read about it here.

I have never used the material you gave a link for, but it sounds intriguing. If you try it please let us know how you like it.

I'm curious; how many people will be watching this 140" screen? The fewer the people, or the tighter they are gathered together, the higher gain screen you can use. As a screens gain starts climbing higher than 1.0 the smaller the "viewing cone" becomes since to make the picture brighter in the center it robs from the sides. Wbassett wrote a great explanation of this in a thread here.

oh ya... the viewing area isn't that wide... there is 2 couches in my theater. however the main couch gets about 99.9 percent of the use and it is only about 7 feet wide and positioned centered with the screen.
Trigonometry was never my thing so I can't tell you what the viewing angle would be for 7 feet wide and 14 feet away, but I would think you could get away with a pretty high gain screen if you needed to.

I don't mean to twist your arm about painting, just wanted to let you know it might be an option. :) If you can get Sherwin-Williams Luminous White paint by the quart, C&S can be a fairly cheap screen solution; but that fabric you found doesn't break the bank either. :T If I can remember to do it, I'll send for a sample.
