My step-daughter's friend asked me to fix(?) her tv if I can. It seems to have a convergence issue, but for a standard single tube tv I don't know what to think. The red (predominantly) is out of allignment with the other colors, not so bad it is unwatchable, but enought that it bothers her. Do these tvs have a way to allign the colors? She doesn't have the remote either and there is no menu button on the set. Oh, it is model 27HS60. any ideas?
thanks.

Most direct view CRT convergence is done by manipulating the deflection yoke and magnets. It is a very tedious and frustrating task. I suggest marking the magnets very carefully so that you can return to the starting point if you make it worse. If you move the yoke, same thing, but more difficult to get back to the same conditions. Check the service manual for the procedure, but don't expect that to be sufficient.
