Sharp PN-465u question

4242 Views 7 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  lcaillo
My wife works at a place that uses these and every once in a while they get something that doesn't work. In this case it is this LCD. Now it is said to need fluorescent tubes and if she wants it she can have it. My question is can I buy these myself and fix it and is it even worth doing? Any advice would be appreciated. Here is the monitor..... http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/Sharp-PN-465U.htm

You probably can find them, if that is what it needs. It is a tricky and tedious process to get to them. Most servicers have been using lamps from scrappers and not buying them, so I am not sure where you might find them.
Well the techs where she works diagnosed the problem and said if she or I could find the part they would install it. I don't know much about LCD's so I am not sure if it would be worth the money or time to do it. I suppose I should see if I can locate the part and see what it will cost.
The problem is that you won't get a part number from sharp. If you can find someone with a scrapper of the same model, or pull one of the tubes to find markings on it that you can match, you might get lucky. Otherwise, I don't know of a resource where you can find cross references between model numbers and lamps like this.

Thanks, I didn't think it would be easy but the wife say's she will talk to one of their suppliers and see if they can help. Thanks for the advice Icaillo. Merry Christmas.....
Same to you and yours, t. Let me know what you find of if you get any numbers you need tracked down and I will see what I can find.
