Basically, whichever gives you the fewest seams is the route to go. I'm guessing that means going horizontal like I did with a 4x10' or 4x12' sheet. It's easy to patch as I did it with ZERO previous drywall experience. The end result is a perfectly flat solid screen that can be patched if a kid accidently puts a hole in it.
