So I am getting frustrated with REW and I'm sure it's an easy fix for someone who has gone thru this before. Here is my setup and signal flow:

UMIK Mic->MacBook Pro->HDMI Out (Soundflower)->Front HDMI Input of Oppo 103d->RX-A3040->Martin Logan 40s, 50XT, FX, Motion 2s, SVS PB2000.

I have read and re-read the setup instructions for a Mac/UMIK/Soundflower/HDMI, can get signal out of each speaker (one at a time), but every time I run signal it's full range on every speaker. The crossover settings I am using are 60hz for Front and Center and 100hz for surrounds. From what I have read, that would mean my sub is crossed at 60hz and I have the crossover on the sub set to LFE (bypass). YPAO for some reason has put a 6db boost at 240hz on the sub channel, but every other PEQ looks fine. But when I select a single channel on the Soundflower software, it always sends full range.

My receiver is set in the 'Straight' mode which simply takes the incoming format that it gets. Could this be the problem? Do I need to send simultaneous signal to multiple channels for the crossover to kick in (how do I do this)? Is there another sound mode I need to set the Yamaha to in order for it to grab the selected crossover?

I'm scratching my head big time as unless I can employ the crossover in the FR, I can't get a good feel for where I need to make adjustments. Thanks!!

I'm only guessing here, but could the oppo be an issue? The AVR does what it's gonna do,but maybe?
Possibly, but I did try it early on straight thru the front hdmi input of the receiver and it was the same story. Maybe I'll try one of the rear hdmi inputs of the receiver tonight and see if that makes a difference.

According to the manual for the A3040 "Straight" applies no processing, try it without Straight.
Ok I'll try that tonight and report back. However, as I translate "processed," it means dsp processing like Yamaha dsp sound fields. It should still adhere to the speaker configuration setup right?? Thank you.

I have a few of the RX series receivers. The no processing at all option on Yamaha is Pure Direct. Straight applies bass management, EQ, delay, but doesn't do any DSP processing or enhancement. So if the source is stereo, you'll get audio from L, R, and the sub, if L and R are set to small.

Hi Chris. Wish I had something to offer you. Just checking to see if you're having any luck.
So I've been able to confirm with Yamaha and additional tests that while in Straight mode, all speaker configuration and bass management is in fact enabled and I can hear a difference when playing music and changing settings. Which leads me to believe it has something to do with my REW setup. I'm thinking it has to do with not sending multiple channels at the same time. When only sending one channel via hdmi, I'm not sure the receiver is doing anything to the signal at all?? I am going to mess around with that more tonight and send multiple channels at a time and just unplug the speakers I don't want tested (at least with the front stage). More to come.
