sony KDF-42WE655 blue tint

Someone is giving this away. Is that probably the optical block too? Or is there something else that can be the problem? It has been a long time since Sony replaced/repaired this issue so I didn't think it still applies. I am still stuck with the mits 52525 and you know what that means. Just wondering if I would be better off with the sony or the Mits. Maybe I should give up the idea of a big screen and get a bunch of little tvs and stack them together. I think I am loosing it in my retirement.
