Sony RDR-VX521 gear needed
Hello,
I am trying to repair my factory-reconditioned Sony RDR-VX521 VCR-DVD Recorder. This unit has a spoked-hub white nylon broken gear which helps load the VHS tapes. I am estimating the gear is roughly 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter. I tried to get an individual gear from Sony, but it is not available as a separate part, and replacing the entire assembly is not cost-effective, costing about as much as the deck itself.
Do any of the HTS members have an idea where I can get individual Sony parts, or happen to have one of these units being scrapped or available at low cost? My Internet searches for this have not been successful.
