I'm trying to figure out how large of a sonotube I would need in order to fit two 12" drivers side-by-side. So what I'm really trying to figure out is how much space there needs to be between the drivers at their closest point, and between the driver and the edge of the sonotube's MDF cap, to make sure there is enough material to keep things in place if I am driving to say 90dB at 5Hz.

I'm thinking the diameter of the sonotobe has to be at least 2x12" (drivers) + 2x2" (edge) + 2" (center) for 30". But maybe 2" isn't enough clearance. I'd say two layers of 3/4" MDF, possibly three.

Also, any issues with placing drivers on the two opposite ends of a 5' or 6' sonotube, if they're going to be driven off the same amp? I'd have 6' of wire going up and then back down.

Didn't think so, but maybe someone knows something I don't about driver configuration I don't. Thanks.
